PUBLIC NOTICETHE HIGHER EDUCATION STUDENTS FINANCING BOARD(HESFB), HAS LEARNT OF AN INSTITUTE IN THE NAMES M/S. INSTITUTE OF PETROLEUM STUDIES KAMPALA WHICH HAS BEEN MASQUERADING ON SOCIAL MEDIA THAT IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE BOARD, TO OFFER LOANS TO STUDENTS INTENDING TO STUDY BACHELORS OF SCIENCE IN OIL AND GAS DAY PROGRAMME/3YEARS. HESFB THEREFORE WOULD LIKE TO CATEGORICALLY DISASSOCIATE ITSELF FROM THIS INSTITUTE AND WARNS THE GENERAL PUBLIC FROM DEALING WITH IT ONBEHALF OF THE BOARDAND INFORMS THE PUBLIC THAT HESFB DOESN'T PARTNER WITH UNCHARTERED PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS.
HESFB INFORMS THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT THE FOLLOWING FEES WERE APPROVED BY THE BOARD PAYABLE FOR THE PRESCRIBED SERVICES FOR WHICH HESFB OFFERS. These Fees and Charges for HESFB Services are in Uganda Shillings(UShs.) and are Exclusive of Bank charges & Excise (Duty) Tax where applicable.

The Students’ Loan shall cover tuition fees and functional fees. The loan shall also cover Aids and Appliances for persons with disabilities, while research funds may be covered as and when budget allows.
To-date, HESFB has awarded loans to a total of 5, 259 beneficiaries consisting of 3,784 (72%) Males and 1,475 (28%) Females to accredited programs and institutions of Higher Learning by National Council for Higher Education.
HESFB has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Federation of Uganda Employers(FUE) which will increase the response rate of the recovery process of loans offered to Students. While officiating the signing of the MoU, Hon. Minister of State for Higher Education, commended the good working relations between the Board and FUE in implementing the HESF Act, 2014 which puts some obligations to employers in recovering funds rent to students in case they get employed with them.
HESFB is pleased to announce the release of the final list of 2017/18 Loan Beneficiaries for both undergraduates and diplomas. The list is hereby attached below.
In case of any inquiries, complaints and appeals in accordance with section 40(1) of the HESFB Act, 2014. During the FY year 2015/16, the Board has made positive strides in an effort to achieve its mandate of providing loans and Schlarships to needy students in Uganda. As a Board we are still a subvention under the Ministry of Education and Sports and as such our activities are reported under the line ministry. The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board (HESFB) announces the release of the Final List All Loan Beneficiaries for the Academic year 2016/17. The Board awarded loans to Students admitted for the Undergraduates and Diplomas in various institutions of Higher learning in Uganda.
All the successful applicants are required to report for studies immediately upon notification at the respective Higher Learning Institutions;
